Educational Programs for General Public and Businesses
The Coos Bay Fire Department strives to provide well-trained, highly motivated personnel and well-maintained equipment to meet the fire prevention, education, emergency service needs of the City. To help meet this objective Coos Bay Fire Department offers a wide variety of training and education to individuals, groups, schools, and businesses. Training and education that is provided by Coos Bay Fire Department convers many different topics including home fire safety, school safety, CPR and first and training, fire extinguisher training, and disaster preparedness. Training and education can be provided through pamphlets and handouts, in person consultation, community or business classes, or by directing individuals to the most appropriate online resources. Fire Prevention Activities
Coos Bay Fire Department offers multiple programs to assist with safety and prevention activities. Coos Bay Fire Department and the City of Coos Bay provide business fire and life safety inspections and plans review. Coos Bay Fire Department has also partnered with American Red Cross to provide free smoke alarms and installation for any residence that we respond to. Coos Bay Fire Department also partners with several other local organizations to assist with a Regional Juvenile Fire Setter Program. This program allows for juveniles that have had instances of improper fire use, or potential for such to be evaluated.
