The Firefighter's Memorial is located in front of City Hall and honors three firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. CBFD Captain Randy Carpenter and firefighters Chuck Hanners and Jeff Common died when a roof collapsed while they were fighting a multiple-alarm fire at Far West Truck and Auto Supply on November 25, 2002.

The Memorial was designed by Coos Bay Firefighters to honor the memory of their lost Brothers, and is dedicated to the sacrifices of all firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty. The eleven trees surrounding the Memorial represent the eleven children who lost their father that day. The statues were created by Mack Holman of the Tsunami Gallery of Gardiner, OR. The central flagpole was salvaged from the Farwest Truck & Auto Supply store.

The Firefighter's Memorial was dedicated on November 25, 2006.
